Barnsley full back Callum Brittain is a reported target for the Swans, Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers according to the Daily Mail giving yet another link in this transfer window.
Brittain has been one of the bright spots of what has been a pretty dismal campaign for the Tykes to date – a side of course that the Swans defeated in the play off semi finals last season.
His performances are reported to have made clubs sit up and take notice and the Swans are known to be in the market for a full back given the uncertainty over the future of Jake Bidwell and of course last week’s departure of Ethan Laird who was recalled by Manchester United.
The mail reports that “Blackburn, Stoke and Swansea are among the clubs interested in the full back, whose contract expires at the end of next season – though Barnsley have an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
Brittain has made 23 appearances for Barnsley this season, and the paper says that the club will be reluctant to let him leave but also believe that the chance to move away from the relegation zone with a move is likely to appeal.
