Wales Online are reporting that, whilst Birmingham lead the way, Preston North End are also monitoring the apparent ‘contract stand off’ between the Swans and Jake Bidwell.

Bidwell is out of contract at the Swansea.com stadium this summer and it looks unlikely that a new one will be agreed between the two clubs particularly given his lack of first team action in recent weeks.

Reports yesterday said that Birmingham were about to step up their interest in the defender and today we are told that Preston also are watching on with a view to potentially making a move for the player.

It still seems more likely that Birmingham will be the ones to move and it is anticipated that something on this could materialise in the course of the next few days but a second interested party may prove to be no bad thing as far as the Swans are concerned.

As ever, time will tell.
