All we want is three points and a clean sheet!

Swansea City return to Championship football tomorrow for the first time in nigh on five weeks as they visit play-off chasing Huddersfield Town.

Christmas has long been and gone since Russell Martin’s men kicked a league ball in anger and changes are anticipated from the side which lost so miserably at home to Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest.

Following a drop in form, one would expect Ben Hamer to drop to the bench allowing Andy Fisher to come in whilst the exit of Ethan Laird could also see Cyrus Christie handed a debut at right back.

Martin’s recent comments also suggest that the formation used against Southampton in the FA Cup may be tried out again, utilising two/three up front from the start.

“They are both available and they will be in the squad,โ€ he told the club’s official website.

โ€œThey will need some time to bed in, but I am sure they will both have an impact.

โ€œIn terms of the rest of the lads, I think it will definitely have helped us to get a game under their belts.

โ€œSome guys were not involved in that game, and some guys are not quite ready for the weekend.

โ€œThere will be a couple missing, but it was important for us physically and mentally to have a game after so long without one over what has been a real strange and difficult period.”

RD’s Predicted line-up:

Fisher, Christie, Bennett, Naughton, Manning, Grimes, Downes, Smith, Ntcham, Obafemi, Piroe.

Fingers crossed that our defensive situation improves as the weeks go on, with further new signings anticipated within the next fortnight or so. All we’re asking for is a clean sheet and a goal for Piroe, that would do Martin and his team the world of good going into the second half of the season
