Wolf, who had been linked with a move to Celtic for ยฃ10m in recent days, would be a huge coup for the club.
It looks likely he will join on loan until the end of the season, bolstering the squad significantly for the run in to the end of the campaign.
Wolf enjoyed great success at RB Salzburg snoring 16 goals in 52 matches before moving to Germany initially on loan.
One of the hottest young talents in Europe, he will undoubtedly have been one of Russell Martin’s top targets in a huge boost for the club.
It’s understood that he could be signed in time to feature against Preston North End in the weekend in what is building to be an exciting return for fans.
