As the Swans confirmed the capture of Hannes Wolf yesterday you would be forgiven for thinking that it could be the end of our midfield targets in this window even with the future of Jamie Paterson uncertain following the events of last weekend.
However, James McAtee – a long term target for the Swans – remains very much high on their agenda in the last 10 days of the window and we remain keen to add him to the squad to give further attacking options in the second half of the season.
James McAtee still wanted by Swansea too. Attacking options could well look bright by the end of the month, even with the Jamie Paterson situation taken into account.

As reported by Wales Online’s Ian Mitchelmore, McAtee remains a target and the Swans are also thought to be the preferred choice for the player should City decide they want him to go out on loan which is the part of the process that nobody is yet clear on.
McAtee has been spending more time in and around the first team squad at the Ethiad Stadium and there have been suggestions that those inside the club believe it would be more beneficial for him to learn from the likes of Silva and De Bruyne even if it means sacrificing the chance of first team football for the second half of the season.
However City are also keen to ensure that some of their young talent get the games that they feel they need to develop properly and could yet decide that a loan move for McAtee is the right thing which, if is the case, will put Swansea at the very top end of a list of potential destinations.
With ten days to run in the window this is likely to be one of those decisions that seems set to go well into next week until a decision but we hope ends as a decision that is positive news for Swans fans.
