Former Swans U23 coach Cameron Toshack is set to be appointed as the new Leeds United assistant manager following the dismissal of Marcelo Bielsa (hola!).
It has been confirmed that Jesse Marsch will take the role of new manager at Elland Road and will take Toshack, son of John (who we hope recovers soon) as his new second in command at the Premier League club.
Marsch is the first American to manage in the top flight since Bob Bradley’s ill fated tenure at Swansea although the new Leeds man has much more experience having held roles at RB Salzburg and Leipzig.
Toshack has applied for the role of Swans boss twice, firstly when Graham Potter exited for Brighton and then when the club parted with Steve Cooper last summer, but has been overlooked in both occasions.
He did manage Greek side Pafos and despite an encouraging start lost his job after only a few months in the role.
The Welshman is credited with the development of the likes of Oli McBurnie, Connor Roberts, Daniel James, Joe Rodon and Ben Cabango in his time at the club and it’ll be interesting to see whether he and Marsch will be able to guide the Whites away from danger in the Premier League.
