Martin ready for Coventry City challenge

Russell Martin will tomorrow welcome a Coventry City side to SA1 looking to complete a second league double of the week after Monday night’s win at West Brom.

The Swans recorded one of their best away performances of the season against the Sky Blues back in November and Martin knows that a performance to that level again tomorrow will see us all leaving the Swansea.com with maximum points in our pockets and a smile on our face.

Coventry arrive in Swansea back on form after falling away slightly from the play off places and they go into the game just three points off the play off zone thanks to ten out of the last fifteen points available.

Martin also revealed that he believes the Coventry model is something the Swans should follow citing how important a philosophy and, maybe more importantly, the time to implement that philosophy is all important.

โ€œThe most important thing Monday was the performance,” Martin said at his press conference on Thursday.

“Spirits have not been low, we focus on the process and the work and having time to work at it made a big difference.

โ€œI really enjoyed the performance โ€“ was controlled and dominant โ€“ looked a real threat at the end of the first half and throughout the second half.

โ€œThe away win at Coventry was a top performance.ย ย  They are a good team with good manager and coaches and I have a lot of respect for them.ย  They have shown how important a philosophy is and having time to implement it.

โ€œWe are at home we like being at home and if we can replicate the performance from the away game we will be confident of getting that good result.

โ€œThey are not just coming here to try and stop us playing โ€“ I am looking forward to it and we will be ready.ย  We need to back up Mondayโ€™s performance with a good result and look for consistency.”
