Jordon Garrick is closing in on almost being a forgotten man at Swansea City.ย ย There are many here who believe that his time in SA1 is up but there is every chance we could be facing him in the Championship next season as Plymouth eye up a return to the second tier.
Garrick is clearly loving life at Home Park and it is clear from all his comments in recent weeks and months that he would like to stay there when his current loan deal expires.
The Swans elected not to try and recall Garrick in the January transfer window which gave the biggest hint that they were happy with his development needs being best met elsewhere but at the same time nobody within the walls of the Swansea.com Stadium will be oblivious to his progression as a player.
Seven goals and eight assists tells much about the story of Garrick’s season, a statistic made all the much better when you consider that 23 of his 45 appearances for Argyle have come from the bench .
Plymouth are sat nicely in fourth place in the League One table, safely looking strong for a play-off space at minimum although a place in the top two remains a possible goal although closing a six point gap with just five games remaining seems unlikely at best.
So what is it for Garrick this season that is working?ย He explained more to the Plymouth official website:ย โThis season has pushed me to levels I didnโt think I could get to.
โI had played a part in 40 games of football in the last two years. This season Iโve already played 40 so personally, thatโs a massive achievement.
โFor me, itโs been fantastic, this season will go down as one of my best.
โYou have to give a lot of credit to the staff, hats off to them, they make sure weโre prepared for every game of football.
โItโs a credit to the players too, how they train and live. Itโs a credit to the staff with the sessions they put on, everyoneโs giving 100 percent.”
Plymouth’s last two games of the season could yet prove to be pivotal with an away trip to Wigan followed by a home game with MK Dons – the division’s current top two and Garrick is aware of the significance as he addedย โAs long as our core group of players, staff and fans stick together, know how good we are and work toward what we want to achieve, I donโt think anything else matters.
โI think we should keep doing what we are doing silently, then we can have the loudest laugh at the end.โ
It is clear from this that whatever happens next for Jordon his future in the game looks strong even if that does lie away from SA1.
