Swansea City are being linked with a move for Chelsea’s Welsh international Ethan Ampadu on loan this summer – at least according to reports from Football League World.
Ampadu is currently on loan at Serie A side Venezia as part of Chelsea’s development programme, the website has been told that the Blues are looking to move him on again next season on loan once more.
And they add that Russell Martin’s side would be an ideal location for Ampadu who would fit in nicely with the Swans desire to play passing football together with a desire to pull in strong young talent into the playing ranks.
The Swans of course have been strong advocates and users of the loan market in recent seasons with the likes of Marc Guehi, Conor Gallagher, Rhian Brewster and Ethan Laird all spending time in SA1 to help develop their careers and the signing of Ampadu would certainly add to those names as an exceptionally strong signing for the Swans should we be able to pull that off.
Ethan’s father Kwame Ampadu represented the Swans more than 150 times between 1994 and 1998 before moving onto Leyton Orient and Exeter in a career than spanned more than 500 career games.
The link comes in a week where the Swans were again linked with a move for another Wales international Joe Allen who is set to be released by Stoke this summer.
