Nottingham Forest v Swansea City – Head to Head

The Swans travel to promotion chasing Nottingham Forest tomorrow looking for an extension to an unbeaten run that goes back to mid March and now covers nine games.

It won’t be easy for Russell Martin’s side though – Forest know that if they win their last three games of the season then they will return to the Premier League for the first time since 1999 and of course they won at the Swansea.com 4-1 back in December.

This will be the 70th meeting between the two sides with Forest holding a slight edge in total matches with 27 wins to 26.

The Swans though have won 3 of the last 4 meetings between the two sides and won at the City Ground last season 1-0 thanks to a headed goal from Connor Roberts.

The most memorable of meetings between the two sides probably came back in 2011 when we met in the play off semi finals.ย  ย An early Neil Taylor red card in the first leg saw the Swans very much on the back foot but a superb performance saw us return to Swansea four days later with a 0-0 draw under our belts.

Early goals from Leon Britton and Stephen Dobbie seemed to have us comfortable but a second half strike from Robert Earnshaw made for a tense finish until Darren Pratley gave the Liberty Stadium one of its greatest moments with a strike from the half way line to send Swansea to Wembley and, of course, ultimately the Premier League.
