Wolf prepared to take pay cut to re-join Swans but still unlikely to happen

Hannes Wolf was an unlikely signing for the Swans when they secured a loan deal back in January to bring him to SA1 from Borussia Mรถnchengladbach for the second half of the season.

On the face of it it appeared to be a successful spell with Wolf putting in some good performances for the club after a settling in period and there was hope that we maybe able to secure a longer term loan deal for the player who has an alleged ยฃ8m price tag on his head.

It has been reported that Wolf is prepared to take a pay cut to re-join the Swans for next season but even with that the Swans budgetary restraints seem unable (or is that unwilling) to make that initial loan move an extended one for next season.

I guess one of the challenges here that we have, as fans, is that we don’t know the figures involved – a pay cut from what to what for example – although there will be the belief and speculation that we managed to afford him last season so a reduced cost should be manageable.

And it may turn out that it is the case that it does become manageable.ย  No press has completely ruled out the chance that the loan for Wolf – and Cyrus Christie for that matter – will definitely not happen but for now it seems unlikely with the budget restraints imposed upon us hitting home once again.
