Could Swans move for Spurs man – the new Son & Kane partnership?

The media yesterday’s likened the Irish strike partnership of Michael Obafemi and Troy Parrott to Spurs duo Harry Kane and Son after both scored and assisted each other.

Parrott is well known to Swans boss Russell Martin after he signed the striker on loan for MK Dons just before leaving for South Wales last summer.

He scored ten goals as the Dons just missed out on promotion to the Championship but – like Obafemi – found form as the season progressed netting six in his last twelve games.

Should Joel Piroe depart for pastures new the Swans will be on the lookout for another forward and Parrott would fit the bill potentially on a loan deal.

Obafemi spoke of the comparisons to the Tottenham stars and said: “Kind of, yes,โ€ he told reporters before adding with a smile: โ€œAnd then in the second half I turned into Harry Kane!

โ€œIf I want to become a top player, Iโ€™ve got to develop my game and not just be one-dimensional going in behind. I felt like this season Iโ€™ve kind of done that, dropping short and getting the ball. Obviously we saw it today with me getting the assist and Iโ€™m happy with that.

โ€œHappy to announce myself, and happy with the win. Troy played me the ball. It just opened up and I was like, โ€˜hit it.

โ€œI feel like sometimes I donโ€™t take enough shots. Today I thought Iโ€™d give it a go.I looked up and I saw the darting run, and I thought, โ€˜Iโ€™d better put it on his nugget. It was brilliant.

โ€œWe spoke about it before the game, our link up play, and you saw it today for the second goal.”

Obafemi struck up a fruitful partnership with Piroe this season and should they both stay at Swansea that will hopefully flourish further. But perhaps there are further options if that wasn’t to happen…
