Michael Obafemi produced a stunning display as he started against Scotland in the Nations League yesterday with fans and the media raving about his performance.

The Swans striker delivered an inch perfect ball to allow Troy Parrott to head in a second goal before he struck with power from 25 yards out leaving Craig Gordon in the Scotland goal helpless.

His form on the national stage continues a superb 2022 where he has transformed his career at the Swansea.com Stadium and now surely earned his place as a regular in the Irish national team.

Obafemi was thrilled with his impact on the pitch, earning the Carlsberg Man of the Match: “If I want to become a top player, Iโ€™ve got to develop my game and not just be one-dimensional going in behind.

โ€œI felt like this season Iโ€™ve kind of done that, dropping short and getting the ball. Obviously we saw it today with me getting the assist and Iโ€™m happy with that.โ€

The only down point on his day was going off with an injury early in the second half but it is not understood to be serious.
