Swans matchday tickets increase by up to 40%

Swans fans who are not season ticket holders have been dealt the news that there is a significant price increase of between 18 and 20% for matchday tickets for next season.

The Swans last night announced that tickets for the Blackburn Rovers game will go on sale from Monday with the news that tickets for adults will be ยฃ30 for Jack Army members, and ยฃ32.50 for non Jack Army members – a price increase from ยฃ25 and ยฃ27.50 respectively last season.

At a time when prices are being hiked everywhere this is a particular blow for football fans and well in advance of inflation costs even at this point in time.

Percentage increases for Over 65s is even worse with Jack Army members finding their cost increased by an incredible 40% to ยฃ17.50 and non Jack Army members in this category up 33% to ยฃ20.00

Whilst most people will understand that costs will be rising for the football club putting a 40% price increase on any category is completely unacceptable and you would hope that this is not a move that has been endorsed by the Supporters Trust who have been accused of being out of touch with the requirements of the fanbase in recent years.

No justification has yet been given by the club for the hike in prices but one thing is certain that in a world where costs are rising for families all over the place, football in Swansea has taken a large step here to ensure a drop in attendances next season.ย  ย This will become evident in the early weeks of the season.

  1. Wait until next season ticket holders prices come out you will see even more reductions in attendance hopefully swans will see sense and understand better to have full stadium bouncing than quarter full with no atmosphere keep prices low fill stadium like in European clubs
