Scottish Premier League giants Rangers have reportedly had a loan bid rejected for Swans youngster Cameron Congreve who is being tipped for a big season at the club.
Congreve’s appearances were limited last season although he did start the final two games of the campaign against Nottingham Forest and QPR as the season petered out to mid table mediocrity.
But according to Football Insider, the Swans have now rejected an offer from Rangers to take the 18 year old attacking midfielder on loan for the season which perhaps suggests that the player has a very exciting future.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst led Rangers to the final of the Europa League last season and the club will have eyes on clawing the SPFL title back to Ibrox so they will be aiming high in the forthcoming season.
But they will be planning for that without Congreve who has instead reportedly agreed a new deal after agreeing an initial professional contract in March taking him to 2025. Where he will figure for the Swans will be interesting to see as he generally featured on the right side of midfield in his few appearances last season.
We look forward to watching his development!
