Hull City have completed the signing of right back Cyrus Christie on a free transfer after his release from Fulham ending speculation about his future.
Christie enjoyed a fruitful spell at Swansea in the second half of last season and there were hopes that he would return on a permanent basis after the expiration of his contract in West London.
But it quickly became apparent that financial figures were far apart between the club and player despite Russell Martin’s hopes of keeping the player in South Wales.
The Swans are still in desperate need of a right sided defender (can we still call them that?) especially after the injury to Joel Latibeaudiere last week but transfer links are few and far between.
There still seems to be a need for moves out before in’s despite suggestions today that Rotherham winger Chiedozie Ogbene is still of interest after his superb start to the season.
One would suggest that it would almost certainly require Joel Piroe to leave the club for that interest to become more concrete over the next few days as the window edges to a close.
There’s lots of work still to be done for Martin and the Swans as they bid to start turning performances into results.
