Swansea City are being linked with a move for Portsmouth’s Irish winger Ronan Curtis as Michael Obafemi edges closer to Burnley.
With the transfer window closing tonight at 11pm the rush is on to secure some last minute business both in and out and it’s likely that there will be an attacker needed in some shape or form.
The Swans and Burnley are still understood to be in talks over a fee although as of this morning negotiations were edging closer to an agreement which means the club needs reinforcements.
A right back is still required, Chiedozie Ogbene of Rotherham may still be of interest and if the latest Twitter news is to be believed Ronan Curtis is a target.
A left winger by trade, the 26 year old has an average of a goal every 4 games in League One and has made 8 appearances for Republic of Ireland.
He would be an interesting addition with Joel Piroe likely to play in his more preferred role up front so Curtis could play in one of the supporting roles should the rumour come to fruition.
That would leave Jamie Paterson, Cameron Congreve, Olivier Ntcham and any new additions vying for the two slots behind Piroe up front. Some may suggest that would give a better balance in the team rather than shoehorning a striker into the wide positions.
We shall see if this comes to fruition…
