Obafemi eyes promotion for Swans after another Cardiff win

Derby day goalscorer Michael Obafemi says his eyes are on helping the Swans to achieve promotion following today’s 2-0 win against Cardiff.

The Swans climbed to fourth thanks to goals from Obafemi and Oli Cooper, backing up a run which had seen the Swans collect 15 points out of the last 18 available.

Russell Martin has remained coy throughout the season when questioned about his ambitions for the team this season but maybe his eyes might be looking a little further up the table after such a good run of form.

And Obafemi says his and the club’s eyes have always been on getting into the play offs and gaining promotion.

“Anything’s possible,” he told Sky Sports after the game “We set ourselves a target before the season started and our aim is to get into the play-offs and hopefully promotion.

“Hopefully we continue what we’re doing and we’ll see where we finish.”

  1. In all fairness, if we hadn’t screwed up our games against Millwall and Stoke, we’d be top. It’s definitely a possibility right now.
