Swans again linked with Leeds United defender

It must be closing in on a new transfer window as the Swans are yet again linked with a move for Leeds United defender Cody Drameh.

It was a link last January and again back in the summer as reports once again suggest – as they did back in the summer – that Leeds may be prepared to let Drameh leave Elland Road with us, Newcastle and Dortmund supposedly all linked as part of a report on Football League World.

The right back, it is reported, is down to the last 18 months on his deal and is down the pecking order at the Premier League club which could prompt a January departure.

Whether that will prompt the Swans to make a move is a subject for debate and discussion but we are known to be on the look out for a right back in the next transfer window and Drameh certainly fits the mould of the kind of player who would interest us.

The difference this time though is that the reports suggest that the move away from Elland Road could be a permanent one and that would almost certainly mean no interest from the Swans who are unlikely to be anywhere near the kind of fee that it is speculated that Leeds would want.

Any interest from SA1 would surely be a loan move at best with an option to buy and if Leeds are looking to cash in on the defender then interest is much more likely to come from elsewhere.

This feels like one of those speculative links that has seen us added due to past interest and whilst a loan move may interest us again if Leeds are looking to cash in as suggested then, as said above, that will surely be us out of the running before the race has started.
