Martin confirms Brentford recall for Stevens

Russell Martin has confirmed that Fin Stevens has been recalled by Brentford as is the ability of a season long loan and he will return to West London having played his last part at Swansea City.

Stevens has not featured for the Swans since a 3-2 win over Reading back in October and made just five substitute appearances for the club following his arrival back in the summer transfer window.

It was reported earlier in the week that the Bees were considering a recall for Stevens especially with their full back options currently limited with Aaron Hickey still recovering from an ankle problem while Kristoffer Ajer, who can operate in that position as well as in central defence, has not yet returned from a knee issue.

Stevens is the latest of a few loan moves over the last few years that have made little sense with the amount of game time – or rather lack of game time – that we give them so his recall is no surprise.

Martin confirmed the departure after last night’s excellent 4-0 win over Watford at the Swansea.com stadium when talking about Stevens and Armstrong Oko-Flex both of whom were absent from the match last night.ย  “Fin Stevens has been called back by Brentford,” said Martin before going on to talk about Oko-Flex and his position with West Ham.
