With just about a week left in the transfer window this is the time period where links become more of a regular occurrence as clubs, players and agents alike try to ensure that they can secure the moves they so desperately want to happen in the window.
The latest of those links sees the Swans – along with Cardiff, Millwall and Stoke all linked with a move for a striker who has a name that many will recognise.
Sydney van Hooijdonk is the son of former Nottingham Forest and Celtic striker Pierre is contracted to Bologna but he has spent the current campaign with Heerenveen in his home country, scoring six goals in 17 Eredivisie games.
Football League World however reports that the player is keen to test himself in the English Leagues and that the Championship quartet could be ready to move as they seek to add firepower to their squad.
The report states that Bologna would be open to a move with an option to make the move permanent although it also adds that with two years left on his contract the summer price tag may not be cheap!
There is also reported interest from both the Netherlands and Belgium for a player who appears to be in demand.
The 22 year old has scored 13 goals in 32 appearances in his year at Heerenveen but just twice since the end of August.
