Swansea City have condemned racial abuse aimed at Michael Obafemi following his move to Burnley which was confirmed at the weekend.
Obafemi ended a stay at Swansea City when he completed a loan move to Turf Moor – confirmed yesterday by the club – but that has attracted some online abuse handed out to Obafemi for the way that his time in SA1 ended.
Obafemi admitted yesterday that he wanted to join Burnley back in the summer when the move was first mooted and he has attracted much criticism for the way he handled himself following the World Cup break but that does not excuse any of the racial abuse that he has received as stated by the club.
The statement issued by the club on Twitter is below.
There is simply no place for racism in society.
