Jamie Paterson has made yet another return to the Swansea City squad after his inclusion for the trip to Luton Town.

Making just twelve appearances this season Paterson has been in and out of the Swans squad ever since his first absence in 2021 and it looked likely he would depart in January.

But nothing materialised with the reported interest from Coventry City and the wideman returns with his most recent differences put to one side in the hope he can help revive Swansea City’s faltering campaign.

The Swans have full availability bar Steven Benda for the trip to play off chasing Luton Town at the ground where they came back from three down to earn a point last season although largely they do have a wretched record against the Hatters.

Early on this season the Luton team then under the tutelage of Nathan Jones came and won 2-0 with ease in SA1 and they’ve gone from strength to strength under new coach Rob Edwards.

Can the Swans go and upset the odds to help their poor run of form? Russell Martin hopes so.

โ€œThere have been so many feelings recently, so much anger, frustration and disappointment. I think we have just got to accept it all, let it go and concentrate on what we can affect,โ€ he said.

โ€œWe can do that by working really hard, trying to be really brave, and I include myself in that.

โ€œThe energy with us has changed, it has not been where it needs to be the last few weeks for so many reasons.

โ€œWe acknowledge that and now we need to start showing some positive energy on the pitch.

โ€œI am done feeling any negativity. Itโ€™s pointless. I canโ€™t help the players if I feel like that. I hope we can put in some performances in the game coming up.

โ€œWe have trained well this week, I feel like that energy is back.

โ€œI think as a leader the biggest thing you have is your energy. I havenโ€™t managed my own well enough in the last few weeks.

โ€œI did a really good job of it in January when everyone else was running round unhappy and anxious about what was going to happen, but after that I have felt a little bit of weight and carried that around.

โ€œBut onwards and upwards. I think itโ€™s been a big week for me personally and I think it will be for the team as well.”

  1. More solid looking mid field today . Letโ€™s just hope that Msrtin has a word with Fisher Cabango and Wood about the crazy passing in defence .Luton will be waiting for it so give them a taste of the unexpected
