With Ryan Manning set to depart SA1 at the end of his contract it has been reported that the Swans are battling Preston North End over Grimsby wing back Anthony Glennon who had a hugely successful season with the Mariners.

The report – via Football Insider – says that “Swansea City and Preston North End are among a number of clubs plotting moves” for the wing back who moved from Burnley last summer.

The former Liverpool youngster scored three and assisted on nine goals last season in 39 appearances for the club which also included a run to the quarter finals of the FA Cup where they were eventually beaten by Brighton.

He came through the ranks at Liverpool and Burnley – making three cup appearances for the Clarets in the 2020-21 season.

We are of course in that time of the summer where there is much “drumming up” of interest in players via agents so it is hard to work out whether there is any mileage in this story or not.

As we say often, time will tell.

4 thought on “Swans target Grimsby Town left back to replace Manning?”
  1. Well nothing new there then looking at players and the signing them are two different things that is wot we the supporters are getting told all the time and nothing happens or the player goes else were these owners of ours have not got a clue on how to run a football club just seeing how much money they can make out of it.

  2. Our recruitment team couldn’t sign a Sunday League player. Don’t hold your breathe on new signings. We will sell all our best players and be relegated this season. Need new owners who have money and know what they are doing. Club has been a joke since Huw Jenkins left.
