As Russell Martin prepares for his Southampton move the managerial links at Swansea City continue to build up and this time reports in Belgium suggest that we have made an approach for Carl Hoefkens.
All reports and rumours in South Wales over the past week have suggested that Chris Davies is the man that the Swans will turn to but we have a habit of appointing a manager with very few links in the press and with no official move believed to be made for Davies then it is no surprise to see new names being linked.
Hoefkens was linked by Belgian reported Sacha Tavolieria via Twitter with the same man also reporting that Leicester City have similarly shown interest in Hoefkens to be the man to spearhead their Championship season.

Football League world report that “Hoefkens was a defender in his playing days and was capped 22 times for the Belgium national team – he also played in England after joining Stoke City in 2005.
“He moved on to West Brom two years later in 2007 but the club he appeared for most was Club Brugge, who he played 134 times for between 2009 and 2013.
“Following his retirement, Hoefkens re-joined Brugge as a youth coach and was then positioned in the first-team as a specialist member of staff to help youth players transition to the senior squad.”
He was appointed manager of Brugge in May 2022 but was sacked after winning 15 of his 27 games in charge and leading the side to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
This could well be speculation with no substance to it but and interesting new link that deserves discussion in the fanbase if nothing else.
