Swansea City have submitted an offer for Excelsior left back Nathan Tjoe-A-On according to reports in the Netherlands.
The 21 year old only has a year remaining on his contract and made 29 appearances in the Eredivisie last campaign, winning the “Talent of the Month” award for September 2022.
At 6 foot Tjoe-A-On fits the profile for making Swansea City a tougher team, a clear remit for Michael Duff as he looks to fine tune his setup.
The player is also said to be attracting interest from Bundesliga. 2 although it appears that it’s the Swans who are showing the most interest at this stage by – attempting at least – negotiating a figure with Excelsior.
The report claims that the Dutch club have effectively already filled Tjoe-A-On’s position after securing the signature of Arthur Zagre from Monaco.
Yesterday’s draw with Birmingham City further highlighted the need (if it needed to be) for a genuine left footed left back after attempts to sign Lee Buchanan failed.
It seems to have gone all quiet on the Kristian Pedersen front too although whilst a left back by trade, it wasn’t believed to be the role Duff had earmarked for the Dane.
Duff’s determined plan built on energetic aggression is well suited to the competition but there has to be a revolution in the skill sets and application of players both mentally and physically. Many have come a long way already in short time. There is no let up in excitement.
