The Swans confirmed today the signing of Nathan Tjoe-A-On on a three year contract as a busy summer of transfer activity continued in SA1.
The left footed player also has the option of an additional twelve months on that contract and he immediately declared that everyone in the Netherlands had heard of Swansea City.
Born in Rotterdam, Tjoe-A-On came through the youth set-up at Excelsior and made his senior debut for them in 2019.
He helped them secure promotion in a dramatic play-off final at the end of the 2021-22 season, and he made 29 appearances in the Dutch top-flight last season.
The new signing was full of praise for the club claiming he had an easy decision to make once he knew of the interest from the Swans as he told the official siteย โThis is a really big club, everyone in the Netherlands knows about this club.
โBut once I spoke to people at Swansea and they gave me a presentation and told me about the story of the club and what they want to achieve – and showed me the facilities here – it really was
not a difficult decision for me.
โWe also talked about the city and the people here, it all sounded so good. When you come somewhere new and you see straight away it is just the same as that you have been told, itโs a really good feeling.”
Tjoe-A-On is not expected to be the last new arrival in Swansea this week with the club now expected to complete the loan signing of highly rated Chelsea defender Bashir Humphreys.
He would become a fourth loan signing of the summer following Carl Rushworth, Harrison Ashby and Charlie Patino who have all joined from Premier League clubs during this window.ย ย Humphreys is highly rated by Chelsea fans and would certainly – on the face of it – add another dimension to the squad and continue a busy window for the new Swans recruitment team this summer.
It is going to take a few games for the team to jell, We will see at Christmas what is likely to happen
Come on you swans
