Piroe set to extend Swansea City stay

At the end of a week where Matt Grimes signed an extension to stay at Swansea City, news this evening suggests that Joel Piroe is about to do the same with a two year contract extension taking him to 2026.

Speculation has been strong all summer that the striker was to depart the Swansea.com Stadium but, as with Grimes that speculation seems set to end with this news.

It has been said that the deal includes a sizeable release clause given the monitoring of Piroe and a clause that will protect us should he continue in the goal scoring nature of the past two seasons.

A new deal for Piroe is as good as any signing that we have made this season and will be welcomed by Swansea fans everywhere and a sure sign of some excellent activity behind the scenes in SA1.

Happy days!

  1. Happy days indeed๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘!!!

A Cardiff fan from Port Talbot said to my comment, “Anything can happen in football” where I pointed out that Piroe might even stay if the Swans offer him a new deal as it would be a great move and long term investment should he continue his 20+ goal average. The Port Talbot lad said, “Piroe is gone”!!! He obviously didn’t want him to stay! I replied, well if he goes I celebrate with the club having ยฃ15 million+ and a few doubles to wash it down๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿป!

    Come on ye Swans๐Ÿฆข๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป!

  2. after 3 games the only good thing about Piroe staying would be the money to buy him . to slow, no interest. Personally i would rest him, put in Cullen who is more active works for the team better. Piroe is a luxery goal asset who on his day is good but lately does not seem interested

    • Heโ€™s not getting the best service. If the midfield could sharpen up a little be proactive and progressive, piroe would get plenty of goal scoring opportunities.

    • Totally agree re Piroe, does not seem interested the last two games, Cullen much the better option. But where is the Duff plan . Nor formation , no plan,no passing connectivity. Got to get it right in next few games

  3. Duff is the great man manager, and man, we have been craving for. The lads are fighting for him and class acts like Mathew, Joel, Joey, know what Michael can lead us into.
This could be the start of a long happy journey!

  4. Agree with Gazza. Waste of a shirt today. Did Jack shite, and was crying out to be subbed by Kuharevich. Give this lad a chance, I think he could be a very good prospect.
Could someone please tell me what Duffs system is?
    Not impressed at the moment

  5. Wen u put out info like piroe getting a new contract.i should imagine its the owners trying to get interested parties to make better offers.as for duffs football .give it a chance .

  6. Swansea has always used wing backs without wing backs you are not going best from Piroe also 3 in the back isn’t working I believe you should have 4 in the back also with Piroe signing extension that is brilliant what a negotiation you are Mr Duff thank you so much your are YJB
