Leeds United midfielder heading to SA1

Darko Gyabi is the “out of the blue” name to be linked on transfer deadline day as reports surfaced this evening that the Swans are ready to hijack a move from Fleetwood for the Leeds midfielder.

The 19 year old had agreed to join Fleetwood on loan and it was expected that the transfer was all but done.

Football Insider now though report that the Swans have made their move and look set to bring Gyabi to SA1 and fill a void that is apparent in our midfield particularly as we have lost Olivier Ntcham in this window.

Gyabi has only had one minute of Championship action this season but did play against Shrewsbury in the League cup but isn’t able to dislodge Archie Gray or Ethan Ampadu in the Leeds midfield.

His arrival at Leeds last summer was part of the sale of Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City but with game time limited a loan deal out was logical with Fleetwood the seeming destination until the moment when the Swans appeared to come in and make their move.

He did make 24 appearances for the youth side at Elland Road last season, scoring twice and having four assists from a deeper midfield role.
