Injured trio leaves us “thin on the ground” says Duff

Michael Duff has not had a good week injury wise and in the aftermath of the 3-0 win at Millwall yesterday afternoon he had to address three more injuries of which at least one will impact his team selection against Norwich on Wednesday evening.

Kristian Pedersen missed yesterday’s win at The Den with a groin injury but it was potential injuries to Jerry Yates and Charlie Patino that Duff also was asked about when he spoke after the game.

This trio came after he revealed earlier in the week that Joe Allen and Nathan Wood would both be out until the New Year whilst Josh Ginnelly had incurred a season ending injury.

Duff talked about Pedersen who missed out on selection yesterday due to a groin injury picked up in training and Duff saidย โ€œKristian Pedersen felt his groin in training.

โ€œI thought he was our best player last week. We donโ€™t know yet if heโ€™ll be ready for the next two games but heโ€™ll definitely be back after the international break.โ€

Yates and Patino both came off during yesterday’s win and Duff addressed both changes and the reasons for them when he saidย โ€œJerry took two dead legs, so weโ€™ll just have to wait and see on that.

โ€œCharlie was just cramp.ย  The lads will be in tomorrow for a cooldown, so hopefully nothing else comes from that because weโ€™re starting to get a bit thin on the ground now.โ€

The inclusion of Yates on Wednesday must be in some doubt due to those two dead legs but you would assume that Patino will be fit to play and Duff did sound more positive on that front.

The Swans take on Norwich at the Swansea.com Stadium on Wednesday with a 7.45pm kick off.
