Norwich City will arrive in SA1 tomorrow looking to plug a defensive gap that has seen them ship twelve goals in four Championship road trips this season.
The Canaries shipped six at Plymouth in their last league away game and four at Southampton back in August which gives a position that David Wagner will want to correct when he lines up against the Swans on Wednesday evening.
It is not all woe on the road though as a win at Huddersfield (4-0) and a draw in that game at Southampton has seen Norwich score 11 times in those four games giving then eleven goals on the road – a total bettered only by leaders Leicester City who have thirteen.
It could therefore be easily argued that it is an inconsistent Norwich that arrive here for the game as the Swans look to build on a three game unbeaten run that has considerably reduced the pressure on Michael Duff.
“We’ve scored a lot of goals so far,” Wagner told the Norwich official website.
“We look like we can score from a lot of areas. We have been without our two strikers for a few weeks already, and with more weeks to come. We have conceded 10 in two games as well, but we’re better than that. We have a desire to show that.
“Two 3-0 wins (for Swansea) speaks for itself, a side who is able to play technically very good football, who can create.
“They changed their shape two games and they’ve found their form and results.”
Wagner reports just one new injury worry ahead of the game with winger Borja Sainz a doubt for the game after being forced off in their weekend win over Birmingham.
“Yeah, he got a knock on his ankle,” added Wagner.
“Luckily, it isn’t a serious injury but it’s quite painful and a little bit swollen.
“We’ll see if he can make the Swansea game but he’ll be back in training soon.
“He continued but after the second (tackle), it got quite difficult for him. I was happy with the decision to take him off. It’s part of the game, I’ve seen that he’s able to take it on.”
