The Swans go into their final home game of this small round of fixtures this evening looking to build on a run of form that has seen them pick up seven points from the last nine available.
David Wagner and his Norwich side will provide the opposition as the Canaries look to continue their strong form this season and maintain their position in the top six.
They are one of six sides with sixteen points so far this season but one of only two of those who are yet to complete their midweek fixture so Wagner will know that his side will move up the table with a three point return to take back to Norfolk.
From our perspective though the debacle at Cardiff is not forgotten but it is now in the past with the Swans having secured two wins on the bounce (our first two wins of the season) and are only an injury time goal at QPR away from making that three straight wins.ย ย It’s a big turnaround in form for Duff and his team when all looked so bleak as they trudged off the pitch at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The two wins have both been achieved with a three goal margin and Duff will be looking to build on that this evening with another maximum return in front of the home supporters with just one game between tonight and the international break – away at Plymouth on Saturday evening.
Jerry Yates you would expect to be missing this evening after Duff admitted at the weekend he had two dead legs and this could well open the door for a league debut for Mykola Kuharevich who netted a first league goal in the weekend win at Millwall.
Outside of that there seems to be little changes expected in the side with Charlie Patino expected to keep his place in the midfield as the Swans look to continue a rise up the table that could see them rise to the relative comfort of mid table if they were to continue that winning run.
Predicted line up: Rushworth, Key, Cabango, Darling, Humphreys, Patino, Grimes, Paterson, Lowe, Cullen, Kuharevich.
Duff certainly wants that for the supporters as he explained in his programme notes for the match “It was great to share the victory with the fans who made the journey too, itโs not easy with train strikes and the distance it takes to travel to a lot of places from Swansea.
“They pay their hard-earned money to support us and itโs great to be able to thank them for their efforts with three points and a good performance.
“We will be looking to deliver the same for you all tonight, against a Norwich side who are one of the favourites for promotion and have looked good from what Iโve seen of them this season.
“They look to try and play a really expansive game, the games come thick and fast in the Championship and they are all hard games.
“We will look to build on this platform we have given ourselves and hopefully we can take another positive step this evening.”
Tickets are available for tonight’s game from the club’s ticket office and online with the midweek clash designated a ‘Category C’ fixture, with general admission tickets starting at just ยฃ10 for U12s.
