The Swans will certainly welcome Kristian Pedersen back from injury this weekend and Ben Cabango will be the subject of a late call from the club as they prepare to welcome leaders Leicester City to the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The pair have sat out the games leading up to the international break – Pedersen out with a groin injury and Cabango with a hamstring injury that also saw him miss out on the Welsh games during the break.

It seems unlikely that either will be thrown straight back into the starting line up even if Cabango does come through as fit but both will be welcome additions for Michael Duff back to the matchday squads as he is already without the long term absentees in Nathan Wood, Joe Allen and Josh Ginnelly.

Duff was speaking at his weekly press conference as he continued his preparation for the visit of Leicester who have won ten of their eleven league games to date this season in one of the strongest ever starts to a Championship season.

The Swans themselves go into the game on the back of four straight wins and Duff will certainly see the weekend game as a true test of the club’s current position and it certainly is shaping up to be one of the toughest tests that we have had this season.   Or even likely to have.

“The squad is looking healthier, Kristian Pedersen is fit and has trained all week,” said Duff.

“Ben Cabango is touch and go, he is on the grass now and we will assess where he is.

“It’s only Ben who is a question mark. Like I say, he is touch and go for the weekend, but he should be available for Tuesday against Watford whatever happens.

“He is very close to being available.”

The Swans face Leicester at home on Saturday (3pm) and Watford visit SA1 on Tuesday evening (7.45pm)
