More recruitment changes at Swansea City?

There is an increasing rumour mill suggesting that the Swans are about to make another change in their recruitment team with a new appointment, possibly at the top.

After a summer that saw Paul Watson arrive from Luton and Josh Marsh retain his position there is now the rumours that Martin Hodge is about to join.ย  ย Given that his role at Turf Moor was Head of Recruitment it seems unlikely that he is just joining to be one of the team and therefore you wonder what this means for people already at the club should the rumours prove to be true.

It should be added at this stage that this could be the rumour mill working overtime but its always worth considering rumours especially when there have been more than enough suggestions that the work of Watson and Marsh was not being as well received as either of the two individuals would have wanted.

Former Everton and Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Hodge is credited as having a wealth of experience as a scout and left Burnley after their relegation in 2022.

The Swans were hugely busy in the summer transfer window with thirteen new additions to the squad but there have been rumours that the work of Watson in particular was not as the club wanted it to be so any change in those roles may not be a major surprise.

As ever with these things though time will tell how much of this is the rumour mill and how much has some substance but with the transfer window just a few weeks away if there is anything in this the club need to move quickly to avoid another window like last January.
