It is a well known fact that Swansea City are on the hunt for a new striker this summer and therefore you could well expect to see many links between the window opening later this week and its final closure at the end of August.
Macaulay Langstaff still remains the obvious name on the list with Luke Williams reportedly keen to bring him to Swansea but that will not stop other names being linked until any moves are made.
Today it was Alan Nixon creating the latest links with the name of Adama Sidibeh who scored five goals in eight games for St Johnstone at the end of last season.
The striker, who has a fixed price of ยฃ500k, is reported by Nixon as being identified by the Swans as a target for this summer although it is difficult to see a reason why this may be the case.ย ย Having signed on in Scotland at the start of the year, Sidibeh played in total just fifteen games last season and was also admitted to hospital at the end of February after collapsing at the end of a game against St Mirren.
Sidibeh was released from hospital soon after with St Johnstone manager Craig Levein sayingย โThe doc said he had low blood pressure.
โHe did get a knock on his head but was fine when the physio went on, there were no symptoms of problems.
โHe stayed on the park. We had a chance pretty late on and maybe the keeper caught him. Maybe that led to him lying on the ground, I donโt know. We need to get further checks for peace of mind.โ
Sidibeh did feature again the week after and grabbed his first goal against Dundee at the end of March, adding four more before the season end.
This name may well be on a list of possible targets but it is certainly not the case I don’t believe that will have targetted him as key addition this summer and, because of that, I cannot see us making any level of move for the player.
