Yet another day and yet more transfer interest being credited to the Swans with the news that Brentford midfielder Myles Peart-Harris is a loan target for the Swans, Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday.
It has been reported that all three clubs have made enquiries for the player who was on loan at Fratton Park last season and played his part in Portsmouth winning the divisional title and sealing a return to the Championship in the process.
Peart-Harris’ contract at Brentford expires next summer although the Bees do have an option to extend that for a further year and it is believed that they want him to go on loan at the highest level possible to assess whether they want to grant the extension.
Interestingly, Portsmouth are not being credited with interest in taking him back to Fratton Park which will beg questions as to why although there were not many negative views on his impact last season and is largely down to manager John Mousinho believing that he will break into the first team squad at Brentford.
“With Myles, I think it will be really interesting to see what he does,” explained Moushino.
“My expectation is he will be competing, I think, for a place in Brentfordโs squad.ย By the time he left Brentford to join us in January heโd played a couple of FA Cup games, a couple of Premier League games and was in their squad.
“Iโd like to think we sent him back in decent enough shape to now go and affect that side.”
Peart-Harris joined Brentford from London rivals Chelsea in 2021, with Frank labelling him “a very talented young player”.ย He has made seven appearances for Brentford’s first-team, three of which were last season.
A departure from Brentford this summer is far from guaranteed though and it has also been reported that Thomas Frank will spend some time assessing the player before he decides whether a loan move is the right thing for him.
Peart-Harris scored twice in twelve appearances in his loan spell last season at Portsmouth, and seven in forty when at Forest Green the season before.
