Is Zan the man? Slovenian striker set for Swansea?

Zan Vipotnik is set to sign for Swansea City according to respected media outlet Nogomania this afternoon.

Strongly linked with Sunderland, Celtic and various other clubs, the Slovenian striker is available on a free transfer due to the perilous situation going at Bordeaux.

At 22 years of age, the frontman has two goals in ten games for his country and recently featured at Euro 2024.

It would be viewed as quite a couple for Luke Williams and Swansea City should they pull this off with a career total of 44 goals in 122 games

10 of those goals cane in Ligue 2 for Bordeaux last season with a further 3 assists following his breakthrough campaign with Maribor in 22/23 where he netted an impressive 23 goals.

Born in Celje, the striker officially became a free agent yesterday (July 31st) and at 6ft would provide a real focal point for the inevitable support from each wing provided by Ronald and – maybe – Eom.

Valued at โ‚ฌ2.5m on Transfermarkt.com, the Swans could take advantage of Vipotnik’s unexpected availability to fill the much discussed hole of a number nine ahead of the season opener at Middlesbrough next weekend.

One to watch.

Would be a great signing, I doubt we could offer him the wages other teams could.

Guy looks absolutely quality, but I'm refusing to believe anything until a random non-Serbian website gets involved

Fits the bill, but not taking anything as red until he's sat in one of those bucket seats talking to the lanky ginger bird.

Hull have also "apparently" reached an agreement with him, think he has plenty of options some of whom can offer far more cash than we can....... we wait and see
