Swans set to seal deal for Liverpool starlet

Swansea City are close to agreeing a deal for Liverpool attacker Kaide Gordon according to reports online this evening.

The attacker has suffered an injury plagued couple of seasons but did return for the Reds youth team at the end of last season, playing a key role in the 3-0 victory against Manchester United.

A versatile winger with plenty of pace, who can also play as a 10, is expected to join on a season long loan to bolster Luke Williams’ forward options.

He had been linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers earlier this summer but it now seems he is set for SA1, maybe before the Gillingham Carabao Cup game.

It isn’t known whether this would be in supplement to the addition of Ruben Providence or instead of with Williams remaining coy after the 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough yesterday.

“We probably are closer [to making a decision on Providence].

“It probably depends on things that may have happened in the last 48 hours that I don’t know about.

“But once I’m caught up to speed I’ll know where we are.”

The Swans boss admitted earlier this week that the club want four new additions before the window closes in September.

....an injury plagued couple of seasons! Bit like buying a car and the salesman says it's been off the road for a few years but trust me!

Why sign a young winger on loan from Liverpool when we have Sam Parker and Govea who can play out wide?
Surely we need to be signing someone permanently in this position rather than a 19yr old when we have 2 promising wingers already on our books.

One I will watch with interest.

He can play in numerous attacking positions, good addition to the squad which gives us more options and adds to the depth of the squad.

Another injury prone player , after having Liam Walsh for a while and Ginelly. Don't the club ever learn.

I think he's slightly different to the likes of Walsh in terms of injuries.

The lad has just overcome a pelvic injury which was linked to growing pains (probably a more medical term for it).

He featured quite a bit for Liverpool towards the end of last season so hopefully he is now over the worst and he signed a new longterm contract with Liverpool in May 2024 so they must rate him.

Plenty of kids come through into the first team at Liverpool in recent seasons, so clearly they've got some good players in there.

Given the lack of depth in the squad and the lack of quality on show today, not sure why anyone would be unhappy with this?

I just hope that he's being brought in to be a genuine contender to be in the team, unlike some of our very odd loan signings over the last few seasons who seemed like they were just here to make up the numbers.

If he's fit and ready to go, I don't see why not, today was evident we need some pace and flair, and tbf although I've not seen much of him, he's got to be better than abdulai on the wing.

Not slating abduali because he's looked decent when in the middle, but he's not a wideman clearly
