Swansea City are being suggested as one of three clubs tracking a potential loan move for Leicester City defender Ben Nelson.
Nelson, who signed a deal last December to keep him at the Foxes until 2027 is also suggested by Darren Witcoop to be also being a target of both Derby County and Portsmouth all of whom are said to be keen to complete a deal before the window closes this evening.

The 19-year-old centre-back became another member of Leicester’s Academy to make a First Team debut when he came off the bench during a Carabao Cup victory at Tranmere Rovers in August 2023.
Speaking after signing his new deal last December Nelson said โIt’s a great feeling to sort it out and extend my stay here.
โIโve brilliant memories from coming all the way through the Academy since Under-9s. We had loads of tournaments, a lot of trips abroad to Poland, India and Netherlands a couple of times. Those opportunities were brilliant for development, playing in different places. It was great.”
Nelson has previously had loan spells at Rochdale and Doncaster on which he added “Rochdale was the tougher of the two but developed me in a different way. Sometimes I wasnโt playing, but I had to get used to that as a young player. Off the pitch, I was going out of my comfort zone being away from home.
โAt Doncaster, that helped me out a lot. I played a lot more there and it gave me a lot of confidence to feel like Iโve done it before, so I could do it again.โ
Nelson made five appearances in Leicester’s promotion winning season last term including a late substitute against the Swans in January.
