Coleman positive as he reflects back on Swans transfer window

The early weeks of every football season are strange ones in recent years with a few league games mixed in with League cup ties and the closure of the summer transfer window.

From the start of August, the whole month seems to pass by in a flurry of speculation, signings, matches and then it all goes flat as the season takes a two week break and international football takes over.

The life of a club supporter, especially to those who don’t pay much attention to the international game, then kicks back into action as September approaches the halfway mark and it’s very easy to forget all that happened just a few short weeks ago.

As the Swans look to return to league action tomorrow, Andy Coleman was in reflective mood as he looked back on a transfer window that many will tell you was not sufficient to deliver what was needed for the Swans but he reflected back with a high degree of positivity.

The Swans, of course, go into tomorrow’s game on the back of a few disappointing performances particularly the second half against Cardiff and the miserable defeat to Wycombe so I suspect Andy is hopeful that the new signings can have an impact starting tomorrow – or in the case of some even more of an impact then they have had already

Coleman said “This is our first home game since the transfer window came to a close a couple of weeks ago.

“After a lot of hard work over an extended period by everyone involved in our recruitment team, we believe we have made positive additions to our squad.

“We prioritised permanent signings who we feel have the attributes and character to make an impact in the Championship, and we hope to see the benefits of that as Luke and his coaching staff work hard with the squad on the training field every day.”

We all hope the same Andy – at least you stopped short of telling us you had started work for January already…
