Luke Williams has left Swansea City after an appalling run of form which has seen 8 losses from the past 10 games.
The long awaited departure sees the Swans looking for the fourth new manager in just over 18 months with Alan Sheehan set to take the reins on an interim basis whilst a full time replacement is sought.
This means tomorrow’s fans forum will be cancelled – with up to 2k expected in attendance – and official announcement will follow to confirm.
Where this leaves incoming sporting director Richard Montague – who some believe was only coming due to his relationship with Wolliams – remains to be seen with his job due to start tomorrow.
Chairman Andy Coleman said:
“This was a difficult decision and one that has not been taken lightly. Luke has led the club through some challenging periods and we appreciate his hard work.
“I am aware of the effort he and his staff have put in throughout the last 13 months for Swansea City. I want to personally thank Luke, Ryan and George for their dedication and the sacrifices they have made on behalf of the club.
“Unfortunately, since the turn of the year our performances and results have not been of the standard required at this level. Ultimately, that has led us to conclude a change is required in order to bring about an improvement in our showings on the pitch.
“We will keep supporters informed of developments when we are in a position to announce a new head coach, while Alan, his staff and our squad focus on our upcoming fixtures
Uncanny how they done it today knowing the fans forum tomorrow. They knew that they were going to be bombarded with hard questions and obviously had no answers for us hence the sacking well good luck Luke and let’s get a decent replacement asap
