Last season Swans fans voted for Leon Britton as the player of the season in the third division and this time around it’s Trundle as his goals and skills have excited crowds at the Vetch this season and his goals are a big factor in the Swans rise to second place in the division following on from near relegation last season.
The high point of the season so far for Trundle was undoubtedly his hat-trick which ensured the Swans came from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at Cheltenham even though the event itself happened in August. Seven other goals have followed as the Swans entertain the crowds with football not seen at the Vetch for many a year.
It was something of a coup in the summer when Trundle arrived from Wrexham to follow ex manager Brian Flynn to the Vetch and he certainly hasn’t disappointed adding not just his goals but his silky skills which included a cheeky shoulder roll in the last home game against Huddersfield. Trundle’s antics have also seen a flurry of red cards at the Vetch this season with opposition defenders unable to handle his antics deciding to kick out instead.
But Swans fans wouldn’t have it any other way and Magic Daps already finds himself in the Top 5 positions for October’s voting on the official PFA web-site.
Lee will be presented with his award by one of the lucky fans who voted for him at a match soon and no doubt that in itself will come with a rousing reception for the man who in just six short weeks has become one of the favourite player to grace the Vetch in the last 20 years.
