White Rock Build Continues Apace |
The new stadium for rugby and football in Swansea is taking shape before our very eyes. Visitors to Swansea who come into the city by train can see the changes on an almost daily basis as the steel skeleton of the stadium shows the outline of the shape of things to come. White Rock is well on schedule to be completed in time for the 2005 and 2006 season and now the floor slab for the first floor of the main West Stand is being installed. This floor will accommodate administrative offices, sponsors rooms and boardroom facilities. Cabinet Member for Development, Byron Owen, who is pictured in the stands, said, "To be able to stand in the proposed playing area and see the steelwork of the new stands going up is very exciting, and illustrates that the stadium is now no longer a promise but a reality. "It looks absolutely brilliant and I’m sure that when the people of Swansea have the opportunity to go in, they’ll be delighted with the new stadium that has been provided for our citizens". |
