What You Can’t Acknowledge

It’s not very often a message board thread gets posted as an article but this little gem from early on this morning deserves reproduction. I won’t say any more but let you read for yourself and draw your own opinion on whether the original post is spot on or a pile of nonsense

STathanidiot Posted on 28/3 2:53 Email this Message | You cant put right what you won’t acknowledge

Just recieved a match report from a a trusted source, it does’nt make pleasant listening to, as I’m sure you can appreciate, however unlike many on this board it comes as no surprise to me(or others). I fully realise the time of this post (please check) But enough is enough. I’ve held back from being Patronising (ok maybe not) Ive held back from being self righteous (ok maybe not) I’ve held back from maintaining that I know better than others (ok maybe not as well) But to be honest, being patronised by supporters from a grim little Northern wool town is just about the limit…..I’ve had enough!!!! Of listening To : A bunch of idiots who have constantly drone on about what a great job our absentee manager and his equally crap assistant were achieving to put our club on an even keel. Lets get it right: We have a crap, unfit, disorganised, unmotivated, bunch of individuals who get paid a decent wage to represent our city in a national league. What they actually return for our investment and faith, is to embarrass us on an almost weekly basis while living the highlife in a nice little seaside town. Well, I’ve got a good idea, lets expect them to represent us to a reasonably proficent degree. Lets expect them to be fit to carry out their job, Lets expect them to battle on behalf of our club, Lets expect them to show a touch of pride at being professional footballers, Lets expect them to practice to put right their deficiencies skill wise at training. Above all lets expect them to show a hint of respect to the mugs who provide their wages. Us What has frustrated me for most of the season, is not that I am any sort of football genius, or all seeing, all knowing football guru, but that along with most of the people who stand around me on the North Bank, it has been obvious for most of the season that despite the relative merits of a number of our players, our team is complete and utter cack and, to my mind anyone who has failed to acknowledge this, is as culpable as that total idiot Flynn in holding back the progress of our club. I’ve kept the gloves off to a certain degree, but I’m no longer prepared to listen to the crap off the section of our fans who still maintain that : Flynn was cementing the foundations of a successfull future. We have one of the best squads in the division. The team is just taking time to gell. We’re just a player or two off having a great team. If we would just stick with a manager for a decent period everything would come good. As far as I’m concerned the apologists for our teams dismal showing since September, are as guilty for holding back our progress as the bunch of incompetents on and off the pitch at SCFC. Is it any wonder that these so called professionals seem oblivious to their shortcomings when you bunch of sycophants constantly make excuses for their shortcomings. Well if you wish to continue to live in dreamland with your Vetch Field idols, you have absolutly no right to condemn the rest of us to stagnate in the morass of inadequacy that your views generate. The only way to move forward is to identify the fact that there is a problem and address it, some of us would like too, some laughably were still talking about the playoffs until yesterday, you’re letting us all down as much as the players are. I know the usuals will scoff at this posting, and in answer to your normal jibe "of course you know better St Athan" Well unfortunately I have to say….. Yes I Do… Get real…. and maybe we can move forward.

The only thing its spot on with, is the fact that its spot on ‘You’re Opinion’, opinion is not fact. Yes we will never know now about Flynn and yes we should be looking to the future but people are still allowed opinions. We will find out next year what we do with a new manager but that alone will not answer the dilema of Flynn, I don’t and nor do any of the anti-Flynn people ‘know’ what would have been, we just have differing opinions. Lets hope we get a good manager who can take us up next year, that is one opinion we all equally share.
