Just got back from the press conference with Kenny Jackett and I must say I was extremely impressed, his positive attitude was like a breath of fresh air, he firmly believes in the family ethos, we met his wife and kids who were very positive and can’t wait to get out and explore and are moving to the area as early as next week. He has a number of new ideas and he plans to attack the top of the third division next season, he has a few games to asses who will be offered new contracts and expects Swansea City to finish the season in as high a position as possible, he believes teams that finish a season strongly will hit the ground running when the new season starts, all in all, today, I was chuffed to be a Swansea City fan. Not being a gambling man I’m going to stick a tenner on automatic promotion, I advise you all to do the same Rgds Huw

welcome Kenny. While I was also surprised at the announcement of the KJ I am very impressed with how loyal he has been to both QPR and Watford. I really hope he does the bizo, not just for us but for him – its a big gamble upping sticks and moving home esp if he has young kids. Good Luck Kenny!

Very well respected at QPR, we’ll miss him but understand his desire to manage again. It was just a matter of time.

I dunno if you heard a guy on real radio tonight . Hes was talking about Jackett taking his first training session . He said he had seen them train under loads of managers . But from the sounds of it Kennys session was first class and he commanded respect . This looks like being a coupe for the club in my opinion . I just hope people dont demand immdiate success . Professionalism is what is needed . I’ll get my Jackett — Post edited by jacks_rockon on 5/4 19:08 —

When I told my two QPR supporting friends that Jackett was on his way, they were gutted. Apparently, they reckon that Jackett is the major figure at QPR and Holloway is merely a figure head. Interesting that Holloway said his best signing at QPR was Jackett. I think we have got ourselves a real gem there!!

Maybe being a bit older I did know a bit about Kenny Jackett, so unlike some my first reaction wasn’t Kenny who. First reaction was that maybe he was due a return to being No1 but I was still slightly nervous. That soon went as I read the opinions from Watford and QPR. We are crying out for our players to give 100%, that’s all we can ask. Reading the comments, we will have a manager who will instil that in players. As I have said before you have to earn the right to turn on the skill. Commitment gives you that right. I am very optimistic for next season under his management.

A gamble or a very astute choice? For me, the choice of K.J. as our next manager/coach, is definitely the latter. Ahead of all the other candidates mentioned, K.J. will bring more than just stability to the club. There are some talented player’s here, and one or two high flying egos. There are under performing player’s here, as recently demonstrated in our results. I believe that K.J. is the man to bring about organisation and consistency on the park. Even the most cursory look at his record suggests this: teams under his influence are coherent and disciplined, and they don’t give away silly goals very often. Looking at the current squad objectively there is a lot of potential, but I hope the Swansea FC Board have not hamstrung K.J. with regard to bringing new faces in. What has become apparent to me this this season, and something which Brian Flynn was obviously not able to remedy – has been our lack of will power and determination to come back after going behind. Division Three has always been physical and often scrappy, and mental muscle is an absolute requirement for any team to compete in it successfully. Skills, organisation, and the desire to win, are the essential qualities needed in any ambitious club. With the coming of a brand new stadium to play in, I think that with the appointment of K.J. we might just have a team to grace it. Greybeard

Lets give him a chance, he’s got pedigree.

I remember Kenny Jackett in the 80,s he wasn’t that bad as a player.

Smudger.

From KJBAWA

Welcome to Swansea Kenny and your family.

I hope your appointment is both long and successful for yourself, the team you put together and everyone at Swansea.

As you will be aware and touched on in your press statements today Swansea City is a proud and passionate club with a history steeped in entertaining ,goalscoring football.

No doubt you will re-call the many battles of Swansea v Watford in the late 70s/80s when John Toshack was here and you were playing at Watford.

We crave the glory days and have done for 20 odd years.

I am telling you now Kenny you take us up and up again and you will be folklore at this club the fans who are absolutly superb will worship you.

I agree that what you have stated about a young, ambitious board is so true and here lays an opportunity for this club to fly…

Good Luck your reputation and focus on success goes before you.

There are many mant targets to not just hit but surpass I am sure you are both excited and ambitious to these.

Please please address the commercial side of the football club also as this will finance 2/3 more players at the least if we got the Swansea City brand out there to the whole fanbase(I live in Wiltshire)..many many exciles out there.

Again welcome

Regards

Evs

good luck and a big welsh warm welcome to kenny and his family, from all the swans fans on the east side

UnderTheArm65 Kenny – you’ll find that we are a particularly passionate set of fans, who are desperate for success and see the move to a new stadium as the springboard to better times, after so many years in the doldrums. Everything I’ve heard and read about you has been positive, and if it’s only half true then I reckon we can look forward to a successful few years. As regards the players you’ve inherited, you need to make your own judgment on those – I would just say that if you read our message board for the last couple of weeks, then you will understand how badly let down us fans feel by so-called professionals – I’m sure that’s something you will soon rectify. And, although it may be burdening you with rather too much, PLEASE use your influence, and experience with a well run community club in Watford, to stress to our Directors the need for a well-run football club as much off the field as on – our Administration, Marketing, Commercial etc are still a disaster. You’ve got a huge challenge ahead of you – but, be assured, the support is second to none.
