Lest We Forget |
A ONE-OFF OPPORTUNITY TO CAPTURE THE UNIQUE MEMORIES OF THE VETCH AND WHAT IT MEANS TO US JACKSThe countdown begins here. In a little over a year the Swans will be permanently bidding farewell to the Vetch Field, home of the club since its inception in 1912. Many a tear will be shed after the final game, and for many of us part of our lives will disappear forever. Abandoning the club’s home of nearly a century will be a wrench and everybody will have their own favourite memories of the era in which a cabbage field was replaced by a football pitch. With its strange angles and four distinctive stands, the Vetch is a truly unique football ground. A little piece of all of us who love the club will die at that last final whistle. However, the memories need not be lost forever. To commemorate the 93 year history of the Vetch a joint venture between the club, supporters trust and independent Swans fans will be producing an exclusive high quality limited edition boxed set in which it is planned to include – รขโฌยข A pictorial history of the Vetch รขโฌยข A pictorial diary of the final season at the Vetch from a fans’ perspective รขโฌยข A CD of Vetch sounds รขโฌยข A limited edition print รขโฌยข A DVD together with other memorabilia of West Wales’ historic premier association football venue. It is anticipated that this unique and comprehensive souvenir will be available in the summer of 2005. Full details of price and availability will be made known nearer the publication date.
