Roberto was instrumental for the Swans staying in the football league back in the 2002/03 season. Roberto signed a two year contract in the summer of 2003 and things were looking up. Unfortunately though he got injured against Boston in the early part of last season and wasn’t the same since. He lost all confidence and wasn’t as influential as he can be. Next season could be Robbie’s last in Britain let’s hope it’s a good one.

Fan’s Views –

“El Captain!!! Was awesome start of season until Boston took him out, started to find form again end of this season! Was one of the main reason’s we stayed up in 2002/3!!! Good vision, passing, and a hard worker!”

“Like Lee Trundle, on his day he is an awesome player and a class act.”

“Not the player he was. If he doesn’t return to some semblance of his form of a year ago I’ll be surprised if he lasts the season.”

“A very talented player who is a leader on the pitch. Transformed the side the season before last, without him we’d be playing in the conference. This season was ruined by that Boston lump and due to his serious injury is severely lacking in the confidence and form. But we can hope a summer break will see him back on form next season.”

“Not the Roberto we know and love! Never been the same since his knee injury – but let’s hope a restful summer back in Spain will see him return to his former glorious self!!”
