Legg To Stay With Posh |
Legg claims that two of his former clubs – Swansea and Notts County – had been in touch with him regards a possible move but he told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph that he is not thinking of moving on "I’ve had two of my old clubs trying to get me but I am happy playing for Barry and I want to give it a go with him, "He deserves to have a good side. He has put his heart and soul into Peterborough and has not got the credit he deserves. "I want to help him try and move things forward." Legg has been offered a two year deal with Peterborough and now seems set to sign the deal within the next few days. Barry Fry had always been confident that Legg would take the deal on offer despite reporterd better deals available elsewhere and a week ago he said "He’s told me he’s had offers from a couple of other clubs – Notts County and Swansea – who can pay him more money than I can. "But this time last year there were half-a-dozen clubs after him who could have paid more money but he chose to stay with me. He’s my player-coach, and he had a great season with us so unless there’s a manager’s job on offer, I’m confident he’ll decide to stay with us" said Fry. Legg moved to London Road at the start of last season after being released following Cardiff’s promotion to Division One. He held down a regular spot in the line up throughout the season and seems set to continue his player coach role. |
