Margeston Signing One Step Closer |
The ex-Liverpool, Celtic and Millwall keeper is, we are told, to complete his move today after agreeing both personal terms and completing his medical. Along with Robert Page he is Cardiff’s first significant move into the transfer market this season but now means that Margetson is likely to be third choice keeper at Ninian Park behind both Warner and Neil Alexander, who has two years to run on his contract. It has been written that dropping down two divisions to play for Swansea would hamper his Welsh chances but nowhere near as much as being third choice at Cardiff where his first team outings are likely to be restricted to a couple of games in the FAW Premier Cup. A move to Swansea would mean first team football as well as the longer security offered by the three year deal we have placed in front of him. Margeston is expected to make his decision over the weekend after he issued Cardiff with an ‘improve it or I’m off ultimatum’ yesterday after they offered just a one year deal. He will discuss his options with his family over the weekend and is expected to inform the Swans on Monday of his decision. However, it is believed that he wants to stay in the South Wales area meaning that unless he accepts a deal to be third choice at Ninian Park then Swansea is his only real option. Let’s hope so anyway! |
