TEST REPORT

Come next May there may be more spectacular goals in the Swans season but Paul Connor’s strike in the 71st minute may be one of the most important as the Swans came from behind to gain an opening day victory over title favourites Northampton at the Vetch Field.

Connor’s strike capped a remarkable turnaround at the Vetch after the visitors had taken the lead on the half hour mark with a goal from Bob Smith that gave debutant Willy Gueret no chance after a slip from Alan Tate in the Swans defence.

On a glorious afternoon at the Vetch Field, football finally returned after a three month absence as the last ever season at the old ground started, 24 hours on from the official launch of the celebrations at the Dragon Hotel.

In this part here you want to write plenty and plenty about the match, action, comments, views, news, basically anything that will fill up this space nicely.

If I keep writing now then in theory I should get to the end of this box and see exactly what happens when I do. What I don’t want to happen is that the team names, referee and attendance etc on the right hand side cocks up and the information becomes distorted quite painfully.

What I may do is use the column to the right of here to include any bookings that were made on the day. This is going to be a different kind of match report that looks more like a report that you may find in a daily newspaper.

I like the look of this and think that when it hits the site it will look very professional and give the impression that maybe I really do know what I am doing on this web-site and it’s not just a hurried cut and paste together.

The match reports may take slightly longer to have them added to the site but it will be worth it – after all another two hours will only mean the fact that a few people may have to re-visit to read the report.

It’s just designed to be something different and I am impressed with the way that it looks so far. The odd photo will just make it look a little bit better.

Coming down now outside the table layout of above and here I will write a couple of paragraphs before adding in just one or two pictures of the match itself.

There will be links to the main match pictures at the bottom of the report together with a link in the scorers table and card table which will appear towards the bottom of this page somewhere.

A few more words in here will help the match report along and pan out the page slightly just to keep people reading on to see what happened during the course of the game together with generating their own comments for the message board itself.

Try and add some opinion on the way that the opposition played as well as ourselves as this will keep the opposition fans reading as well. Maybe some comments on the management style as well.

These reports will become harder to write for games that I have not seen but we will get there in some way shape or form with comment from somewhere even if it has to be taken from the newspaper or something like that.

I am going to try and just put two match photos in the report when I have pictures and then the usual photo gallery on a separate page where people can click the thumbnails in the usual way.

Probably here we will have a couple of paragraphs before moving into the match reporting centre which will show the scorers, times and any cautions/sendings off that may have happened in the match itself.

Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah god it is easier to write something then just the same word time and time again although I suppose that if I had the energy I could do a cut and paste to make that part of this somewhat easier.

Goals

Yet again in this section here the idea will be to fill it with some words to run alongside the statistics to the left.

The exact amount of the words will depend on the number of goals in the game together with the number of cards etc etc. Sometimes there will be less words on the basis that there may be no match pictures meaning that the bottom two lines of the columns to the left will become null and void as I delete them,

All in all the match report once finished I think will look quite impressive and the idea will be that people come and want to read the report and the headlines that go with it.

Headlines are not necessarily my forte but it doesn’t have to be amusing it can be anything at all so long as it comes out as a headline and tells you in a few words exactly what happened in the game itself.

We are now in the final section of the report and this is the beginning of the round up on the match itself. Maybe two or three paragraphs that just sum up my thoughts and feelings around the game together with a few thoughts on who played well and who didn’t.

A few words about a player that shone out if I am doing the match report and the last few lines of anything else that I have. By this stage it will have been a good read and people will have appreciated clicking onto the match report and reading what JackArmy.net has to say about proceedings.

Maybe a one-liner to finish?
